System Audio Muting issue
When using an alternative sound card, eg and external sound card. The muting doesn't work while recording. It does work when I just use the Built in audio when I'm on just on my laptop. But when I plug in my external sound card when I'm at my desk, it's not muting when I trigger recording.

Thanks for the detailed report. We moved this to Bugs and are tracking it as a macOS external audio-device muting issue, since built-in output and some external sound cards can behave differently.
